“Madam, Sir, your chariot awaits.” It’s not just a fairy tale anymore. Today’s #ButterflyKisses story honors the important work of Chariot.Org in Central Texas.
“Chariot enriches lives and communities by providing transportation and socialization to non-driving seniors, helping them to age in place.” Formerly Drive a Senior Central Texas, Chariot is committed to helping seniors stay connected with friends, family, and organizations as well as to help them thrive in their own homes.
One of the biggest challenges people face as they age is lack of independence with regard to transportation. Volunteer drivers for Chariot use their own cars to drive clients to medical appointments, grocery stores, hair salons, senior centers and to other errands for free. They provide rides but also build relationships to foster human connection.
Chariot believes “we drive, you thrive.” Iron Butterflies Project salutes the work you do to enable our aging members of society to live full and independent lives.
